School Messenger System

This sends emergency, attendance, weather and other alerts via text, voice, email and social ​media. To opt in, text Y to 67587. Email camden.maxon@mountainsunriseacademy.org ​with questions.

Mountain Sunrise Academy Website

Our website is a great resource for information about our school. You can find our yearly school schedule and dates of upcoming activities. There are quick links on the top right, including a link to excuse absences and a link to class supplies or field trip donations.

School Newsletter

A brief school newsletter called the “Sunrise Scoop” will be sent out weekly with important updates and logistics. Please follow the following steps to sign up:


  1. Visit the main school site.
  2. An "Email List" input box is at the very bottom of the home page on the right side.
  3. Type your email into the box.
  4. You will get a confirmation email sent to your inbox. Click "Confirm your email".
    1. This step must be completed to be subscribed to our Sunrise Scoop!

Weekly Teacher Emails

Teachers will send class-wide weekly emails to help parents feel connected and informed about what their children are learning in class. Teachers will use these emails to send out sign-up links for their class-specific volunteer needs.

School Forms

Students need parental permission before joining school field trips.

Volunteers who wish to volunteer at the school must sign this form regarding FERPA (student privacy law) and volunteer policies.

Volunteers who will be driving students other than their own child must fill out the Volunteer Driver Agreement.

Library Committee

Contact the Library Committee Chairs or your PCC leaders to join the ​library committee (different library leadership positions are available)


Duties

We meet monthly to strategize for upcoming book fairs and reading ​challenges, actively contributing to the library's growth and impact. Our ​dedication is demonstrated through our involvement in book repair and ​the processing of new materials. Together, we form a dynamic team ​empowering the library's mission to foster a love for reading.





Reading Arena

The library committee hosts a reading incentive program where students in Grades 3-8 read books and come together in teams to demonstrate their knowledge of the books they have read.

The Readers Arena is a reading incentive program where students in Grades 3-8 read books and come together in teams to demonstrate their knowledge of the books they have read.


Who Can Participate

Anyone in grades 3-8 may participate. Each grade bracket will have a



How to Participate

  1. Start reading the list of books and learning the author’s names.
    1. Participants can read all 16 or can share the load with team members.
  2. Fill out the “Memory Keeper” to keep details in your mind.
  3. Check-in with the librarian when finished with a book – each participant ​must read 4 books minimum – file your Memory Keeper and get a Book ​Button to pin on your Library Lanyard.
  4. Gather a team of 4 within your grade bracket (3rd/4th, 5th/6th, 7th/8th ),
    1. Create a Team Name
    2. Talk about the books.



Important Dates

Jan 2025

In order to participate in February's arena, participants must read a minimum of ​4 books by January.


Feb 2025

Teams will face off in the arena

PCC Pr​esident

Mikale Williamson

Mikale has lived in Utah Valley for 13 years with her husband, Ammon, and ​their four kids, Kai (11), Teagan (10), Lincoln (7), and Piper (4). She has a ​passion for education. She has degrees in Music Ed and Youth and Family ​Leisure and worked as a teacher in both fields before becoming a stay-at-​home mom. She loves to travel, be outside, eat good food, and spend time ​with family and friends around the country.


Her children have loved the past three years at MSA and Mikale has been ​involved as a room parent each year. This will be her second year heading up ​the PCC and she is excited for the year ahead of supporting the wonderful ​teachers, admin, and staff, as well as encouraging parent involvement so ​every child gets the best education and experience possible. Every time you ​volunteer, it DOES make a difference!

Bethanie and her family moved to Eagle mountain in 2020. She loves being ​involved in with anything her kids are apart of and has served the school in ​many different capacities over the years. Bethanie enjoys reading, camping ​and exploring with her family. Professionally, Bethanie managed Clinique ​cosmetics for 12 years and then had the pleasure of being a stay at home ​mom for 7 years. The last 3 years she’s had the opportunity to work as a ​class aide and has loved every minute of it. She truly believes that in order ​for our children to succeed we need our teachers to be successful and in ​order for our teachers to be successful we need our school to meet it’s full ​potential. Together we can make a difference.

Lybbie grew up in Southern California, attended the University of California ​Santa Barbara studying art history and has a degree in graphic design. She ​was a store and then area manager of a national floral franchise for over a ​decade, received prestigious awards and was featured in European Vogue ​magazine as a designer, and now has her own wedding floral business.

Her eldest daughter Vivianna started with MSA the year it opened and her ​youngest daughter Octavia started last year. Lybbie is a voracious reader ​(over 300 books last year), and loves gardening, traveling, all things flowers ​and her family. She has volunteered as a room parent and looks forward to ​joining the PCC and being a support to MSA's wonderful parent community.

Library Committee Chair

BlairE Watanabe

Blaire has been with MSA since day one, jumping in to help set up the ​library even before MSA officially opened our doors. Since 2020, she's ​been the go-to library leader, always finding ways to support the ​committee.


Blaire works as a librarian at the Provo City Library. She’s a huge fan of ​children's literature and loves chatting with kids about their favorite ​books. Outside of her library adventures, Blaire is a busy mom of four ​who happily attends MSA. She is excited for a new year of books and ​adventures with the students and MSA community.

ALICIA SMALL



Alicia has been a library committee member since 2021 and has enjoyed ​being able to help contribute to the growth and organization of the ​library. She's coordinated and volunteered at numerous school book fairs. ​She loves reading and learning and hopes to continue to make the library ​a place where this passion can be instilled in our children by providing ​beautiful and inspiring age-appropriate books for our students.


Alicia has homeschooled her 5 children for 10 years, 4 of them now ​attend MSA. Alicia will also be working as a kindergarten aide in the ​school. If you have any questions or book requests, please let me know! ​We'd love for you to join our fun library committee!


Yearbook Committee​ Chair




Melissa grew up and has lived in Utah County all her ​life except for a short stint for college in Rexburg, ​Idaho. She got a degree in interior design from BYU-​Idaho. She then worked at an architect's office for 5.5 ​years as a nationally certified interior designer before ​quitting to be a stay-at-home mom. She keeps herself ​busy with 3 kids who all attend MSA, working as a ​daycare instructor at Magnolia Fit, and as the ​community outreach coordinator for the Saratoga ​Springs Police Department. She enjoys camping, ​hiking, taking pictures, and reading during her free ​time. She oversees the yearbook here at MSA.

Handwork Committee​ Chair

Volunteer Needed

Handwork Committee is responsible for helping recruit ​parent volunteers to assist the teacher and aides ​during class time. Mrs. Callis needs assistance with her ​amazing festival booths! Members of this committee ​report to the Parent Council Committee to help inform ​the school on what support is needed to help this ​specialty thrive.
